Executive Principal | Strategic Education Leader | Expert in School Improvement, System Leadership & Trust-Wide Strategy

I live in Cambridgeshire and am the proud father of three wonderful daughters.

With over 20 years of experience in the UK state education sector, I have a track record of transforming schools and leading systemic change at scale. Currently serving as Executive Principal at Meridian Trust, I support and advise a number of school Principals while spearheading trust-wide strategies in professional development (including ITT), curriculum and pedagogy, communications, and 16–19 education.

Since joining Meridian Trust a decade ago, I’ve helped contribute to our growth from 5 to 30 schools – driving improvement, strategic alignment, and leadership capacity across the organisation.

Previously, as Principal of Ely College (2016–2020), I led its journey out of Special Measures to become a thriving, oversubscribed school, rated ‘Good’ overall with ‘Outstanding’ leadership. Most recently, I’ve overseen the successful integration and rapid improvement of Sharnbrook Academy and Lincroft Academy, both securing ‘Good’ and ‘Outstanding’ Ofsted outcomes in 2025.

Beyond my leadership roles, I’m a passionate English and Drama educator, published author (Cambridge University Press, Cambridge School Shakespeare range), and regular speaker at national conferences. My secondment to Ofsted’s HMI team (East of England) in 2015-16 further deepened my insight into inspection, accountability, and high-impact school improvement. I continue to contribute to NPQ training and support trust leaders across the sector.
